Media, art, and storytelling have the power to magnify blaring inequities, generate questions, catalyze social innovation, and instigate urgent transformation. Racism and other forms of institutional oppression cause harm to BIPOC people, and The Village Place wants to provide BIPOC youth and young people support finding ways to celebrate and cope with the beaty and reality of their existence. Through Our Voices, we challenge injustice by empowering youth to become systems change-makers, in the form of narrative and story strategists, artists and community organizing using creative outlets to advance social justice and equity.
